  CONSTRUCTION OF AIRCRAFT STAND 16 AT TAN SON NHAT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (VVTS)

1 — INTRODUCTION

This section supplements the following portion(s) of the AIP: AD.

This AIP Supplement aims at notifying the construction of aircraft stand 16 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (VVTS).

Note: New Domestic Terminal T3: put into operation from 1701 on 18 APR 2025.

2 — DETAILS

Construction areas of aircraft stand 16 are divided into 3 Phases

Note:

  1. Construction areas are surrounded by fences, marker boards, warning lights, markings as specified.

  2. Install NO-ENTRY marker boards at the beginning of temporarily closed TWYs.

  3. Pilot follow ATC instructions strictly.

2.1  Phase 1

NOTAMs A0769/25, A0770/25 have been published to notify this contents with effective from 0701 on 12 APR 2025 to 0700 on 24 APR 2025.

2.2  Phase 2

2.2.1  Construction period: From 0701 on 24 APR 2025 to 0700 on 19 MAY 2025

2.2.2  Construction area

  1. TWY V (10.9 m from the position of CL of taxilane into stand 16 to the West and 13.5 m to the East; 11.5 m from the position of CL of TWY V to the South to 43.5 m from the position of CL of TWY V to the South).

  2. Stand 16, service road A3.

2.2.3   Temporarily suspended areas

  1. Stands 16, 16A, 16B; passenger boarding bridge at stand 16; VDGS system at stand 16.

  2. Service road A3, a portion from the intersection of service road A15 to 97 m from the position of the intersection of service road A15 to the East.

  3. TWY V, a portion of 62 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East to the portion of 126 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East.

2.2.4  Established and adjusted areas

  1. Adjustment of the aircraft operational procedures at stand 8, the nose of the aircraft face South, used for aircraft up to ATR 72 (wingspan 27.05 m and length 27.17 m) and equivalent.

  2. Coordinates of stop line of stand 8: 104905.67N 1063941.59E (Applicable from 0701 on 24 APR 2025 to 0700 on 19 MAY 2025).

  3. Establishment of markings to lead line on temporarily closed TWY V (a portion behind stand 16) to serve towing/pushing of aircraft up to code C (with maximum wingspan 36 m) and equivalent on a portion of TWY V.

  4. Temporary service road A3A is used for vehicles, facilities during construction period.

Note:

  1. Follow-me car for aircraft taxiing out/into stands from 1 to 8, 9 to 15 shall be used when required by TWR.

  2. When aircraft code C are towed/pushed on temporary taxilane (on TWY V, the portion is temporarily closed): Temporarily closed service road A13 respectively.

2.2.5  Aircraft operational procedures

  1. Stands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12

    For departure aircraft: Aircraft taxi following the current procedures to the holding position for departure, except for taxiing procedures via TWY V, a portion temporarily closed (a portion of 62 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East to the portion of 126 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East).

    For arrival aircraft: Aircraft taxi following the current procedures to TWY S → TWY S4/S3 → TWY V → stand.

  2. Stand 7

    For departure aircraft: Aircraft taxi to TWY S → continue taxiing following the current procedures to the holding position for departure.

    For arrival aircraft: Aircraft taxi following the current procedures to TWY S → TWY S4/S3 → TWY V → stand.

  3. Stand 8 (used for aircraft up to ATR 72 and equivalent)

    For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed back to TWY S and taxi-following the current procedures to the holding position for departure.

    For arrival aircraft: Aircraft taxi following the current procedures to TWY S → stand.

  4. Stand 13

    For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed back to TWY V, the nose of aircraft face East, aircraft are towed to abeam the CL of stand 13 → aircraft are started up the engine, taxi following the current procedures to the holding position for departure. Or

    Aircraft are pushed back to TWY V, the nose of aircraft face West → taxi to TWY V → TWY S4 → TWY S → continue taxiing following the current procedures to the holding position for departure.

    For arrival aircraft: Aircraft taxi following the current procedures to TWY S → TWY S4/S3 → TWY V → stand.

  5. Stand 14

    For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed back to TWY V, the nose of aircraft face West, aircraft are pushed back to abeam the CL of stand 13 → aircraft are started up the engine, taxi to TWY V → TWY S4 → TWY S → continue taxiing following the current procedures to the holding position for departure. Or

    Aircraft are pushed back to TWY V, the nose of aircraft face East, aircraft are pushed back to abeam the CL of stand 13 → aircraft are started up the engine, taxi to TWY V → continue taxiing following the current procedures to the holding position for departure.

    For arrival aircraft: Aircraft taxi following the current procedures to TWY S → TWY S4/S3 → TWY V → stand.

  6. Stand 15

    For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed back to TWY V, the nose of aircraft face West, aircraft are pushed back to abeam the CL of stand 13 → aircraft are started up the engine, taxi to TWY V → TWY S4 → TWY S → continue taxiing following the current procedures to the holding position for departure.

    For arrival aircraft: Aircraft taxi following the current procedures to TWY S → TWY S4/S3 → TWY V → stand.

  7. Stand 16: Do not applied aircraft operational procedures for arriving and departing aircraft from stand 16.

  8. The remaining stands: Applied the current procedures except for taxiing procedures via TWY V, a portion temporarily closed (a portion of 62 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East to the portion of 126 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East).

  9. Towing aircraft into/out VAECO hangar

    1. For aircraft up to code C and equivalent: Aircraft are towed and pushed following the current procedures (for TWY V, a portion-of 62 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East to the portion of 126 m from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East, aircraft are towed on temporary taxilane and there are security guards when towing aircraft via this area).

    2. For aircraft code D, E

      1. Towing into: Aircraft from commercial stands are towed to TWY V → TWY S5 → TWY S → TWY S4/S3 → TWY V → VAECO hangar.

      2. Towing out: Aircraft from VAECO hangar → TWY V → TWY S3/S4 → TWY S → TWY S5 → continue being towed following the current procedures to assigned stand.

2.3  Phase 3

2.3.1   Construction period: From 0701 on 19 MAY 2025 to 0700 on 28 JUN 2025

2.3.2  Construction area: Stand 16, service road A3

2.3.3  Temporarily suspended areas

  1. Stands 16, 16A, 16B; passenger boarding bridge at stand 16; VDGS system at stand 16.

  2. Service road A3, a portion from the intersection of service road A15 to 97 m from the position of the intersection of service road A15 to the East.

  3. Erasement of markings to temporary lead line on a portion of TWY V (a portion behind stand 16) to serve towing/pushing aircraft up to code C (with maximum wingspan 36 m) and equivalent on a portion of TWY V.

  4. Temporary service road A3A is used for vehicles, facilities during construction period.

2.3.4  Area put into operation: From 0701 on 19 MAY 2025

  1. TWY V, a portion from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East 62 m to the portion from the intersection of TWY S5 to the East 126 m.

  2. Adjustment of aircraft operational procedures at stand 8 as initial: The nose of the aircraft face North, used for aircraft up to A320 and equivalent.

2.3.5  Aircraft operational procedures

Applied the current procedures, except for taxiing procedures for aircraft out/into stands 16, 16A, 16B.

2.4  Areas put into operation: From 0701 on 28 JUN 2025

  1. Stand 16; passenger boarding bridge at stand 16; VDGS system at stand 16. Carry out the restoration of markings to lead line, marking identification of stands from TWY V into stands 16, 16A, 16B following the current procedures.

  2. Service road A3, a portion from the intersection of service road A15 to 97 m from the position of the intersection of service road A15 to the East.

  3. Aircraft operational procedures: Applicable from 0701 on 28 JUN 2025, applied the current procedures.

Note: Closure of temporary service road A3A from 0701 on 28 JUN 2025.

3 — EFFECT

This AIP Supplement shall become effective from 0701 on 24 APR 2025 to 0700 on 28 JUN 2025.

4 — CANCELLATION

Any change relating to this AIP Supplement shall be notified by NOTAM.

This AIP Supplement consists of 2 attachment as follows:
