  RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY MAINTENANCE AT THO XUAN AIRPORT (VVTX)

1 — INTRODUCTION

This section supplements the following portion(s) of the AIP: AD.

This AIP Supplement aims at notifying the RWY and TWY maintenance at Tho Xuan Airport (VVTX).

Note: Construction areas are surrounded by fences, marker boards, warning lights of restricted area.

1.1  Phase 1: From 0000 on 5 DEC 2024 to 1659 on 14 JAN 2025

See chart on page 3 below for details.

1.1.1  Construction areas:

  1. Parallel TWY SP (A portion from the position which is about 420 m from the CL of TWY S5 to the position which is adjacent to TWY S6).

    Construction period: H24

  2. TWY S6 (A portion from the position which is adjacent to parallel TWY SP to the position which is about 49 m from the RCL to the North East).

    Construction period: From 1600 to 2200 daily (intermittent time among flights or when there is no flight operation).

1.1.2  Closed areas

  1. Parallel TWY SP: A portion from the position which is about 420 m from the CL of TWY S5 to the North West to the position which is adjacent to TWY S6.

  2. TWY S6.

1.1.3  Operational procedures during construction period:

Addition of procedures allowing aircraft code C and equivalent backtrack at RWY 31.

  1. For landing aircraft:

    1. RWY 31: After landing, aircraft taxi on RWY 31 → TWY S1/S3 → parallel TWY SP → TWY A1/A2 → apron.

    2. RWY 13: After landing, aircraft taxi on RWY 13 → TWY S5 (or backtrack at the beginning of RWY 31 → RWY 13 → TWY S5) → parallel TWY SP → TWY A1/A2 → apron.

  2. For departure aircraft:

    1. RWY 31: Apron → TWY A1/A2 → parallel TWY SP → TWY S5 → RWY 31 → backtrack at the beginning of RWY 31 for departure.

    2. RWY 13: Apron → TWY A1/A2 → parallel TWY SP → TWY S1 → RWY 13 for departure.

1.2  Completion of phase 1: From 1700 on 14 JAN 2025

1.2.1  Area put into operation:

  1. Parallel TWY SP: A portion from the position which is about 420 m from the CL of TWY S5 to the North West to the position which is adjacent to TWY S6.

  2. TWY S6.

1.2.2  Aircraft operational procedures: Resume operational procedures as before phase 1 construction.

1.3  Phase 2: From 0000 on 22 FEB 2025 to 1659 on 15 APR 2025

See chart on page 5 below for details.

1.3.1  Construction period:

  1. Position: Parallel TWY SP (A portion from the position which is about 80 m from the CL of TWY S3 to the North West to the position which is about 28 m from the CL of TWY S5 to the South East).

    Construction period: H24

  2. Position: RWY (The starting position which is 100 m from the CL of TWY S4 to the North West and the ending position which is 110 m from the CL of TWY S4 to the North West).

    Construction period: From 1600 to 2200 daily (intermittent time among flights or when there is no flight operation).

1.3.2  Closed areas:

  1. Parallel TWY SP: A portion from the position which is about 80 m from the CL of TWY S3 to the North West to the position which is about 28 m from the CL of TWY S5 to the South East.

  2. TWY S4.

1.3.3  Operational procedures during construction period:

Note: TWY A2: Priority usage when moving aircraft from RWY, TWY into apron in order to protect the construction area from the affects of aircraft exhaust aircraft on phase 2.

  1. For landing aircraft:

    1. RWY 31: After landing, aircraft taxi on RWY 31 → TWY S3/S1 → parallel TWY SP → TWY S1/S3 → RWY 31 → TWY S5/S6 → parallel TWY SP → TWY A1/A2 → apron.

    2. RWY 13: After landing, aircraft taxi on RWY 13 → TWY S5/S6 → parallel TWY SP → TWY A2/A1 → apron.

  2. For departure aircraft:

    1. RWY 31: Apron → TWY A1/A2 → parallel TWY SP → TWY S6 → RWY 31 for departure.

    2. RWY 13: Apron → TWY A1/A2 → TWY S5/S6 → RWY 13 → TWY S2/S3 → parallel TWY SP → TWY S1 → RWY 13 for departure.
